Michelle Altick is an experienced transactional attorney and the Firm’s founding attorney. Prior to establishing a solo practice in 2011, Michelle started her career with Allen Matkins and then with Cooley. For over a decade, Michelle has built upon her lasting relationships with businesses, property owners and users, assisting her clients with transactional real estate needs ranging from purchase and sale, leasing, diligence and general legal counseling services. She drafts and negotiates leases, subleases and ground leases for office, industrial, life science, retail and other commercial properties.
Michelle represents investors, developers, and end-users with the purchase and sale of a variety of commercial property, including office buildings, R&D facilities, industrial spaces, warehouses, mixed-use, retail space and shopping centers. She’s experienced in advising technology companies and life science companies with leasing and subleasing space throughout California. Michelle has served as interim in house real estate counsel for a robust medical tenant expanding rapidly nationwide, negotiating and preparing lease documents and ancillary real estate contracts for shopping center, in-line and acquired single-tenant building locations, as well as pop-up locations and license agreements.
A San Diego native, Michelle attended undergrad at UC Davis and received a B.S. in Managerial Economics and a B.A. in Spanish. She attended the Universidad de Granada in Spain to complete coursework for her Spanish degree. Michelle received her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review “Constitutional Law Quarterly”.
Michelle has been named one of Northern California Rising Stars, as designated by American Lawyer Magazine and San Francisco Magazine. She is a recipient of the State Bar of California Wiley W. Manuel Pro Bono Award.
Michelle is admitted to practice law in California and is a member of the Solo Practice and Real Estate Sections of the California Bar.
